Rotting Ink Press is an independent horror imprint dedicated to dark fiction, cosmic terror, psychological dread, and stories that refuse to die.
Born from the shadows of The Graveyard Shift Radio Show, Rotting Ink Press publishes nightmares soaked in ink, blood, and memory.
From haunted towns and forbidden rituals to cosmic horrors beyond human understanding, these stories are crafted for readers who still crave atmosphere, fear, and lingering unease.

Daniel Montgomery’s fascination with horror began at the age of ten after seeing Lon Chaney Jr. in The Wolf Man. From that moment on, monsters, atmosphere, and the power of dark storytelling never let go.
During his high school years, he gravitated toward filmmaking and horror imagery, already envisioning stories in his head long before he ever considered becoming a writer. Music followed soon after, spending a decade playing bass in bands throughout the 1980s and early 1990s before eventually stepping away from the scene.
But the creative pull toward darkness and storytelling never disappeared.
After being turned down by a Seattle rock station, Montgomery launched The Graveyard Shift Radio Show on October 31, 2009 — creating a home for hard rock, heavy metal, horror culture, and eventually classic old-time radio horror broadcasts. Those eerie broadcasts and atmospheric tales reignited something deeper: the desire to create original stories of his own.
Three years ago, Montgomery began writing horror and science fiction fiction, learning and evolving with every story written. Today, his growing catalog includes the horror novel MortuMary, the cosmic horror release Shadowborn, and a steadily expanding universe of dark fiction through Rotting Ink Press.
